Size matters in a concealed carry pistol. Reduced dimensions and light weight are as important as magazine capacity and power. Kimber Ultra Carry pistols in .45 ACP and 9 mm have it all, and put it together in a 1911 package that simply outperforms any other type of semi-automatic. To ensure dependability, Ultra Carry lightweight aluminum frames are machined on the same computer-driven machines and to the same unequaled tolerances as Kimber steel frames. Each model has standard Kimber features like rounded and blended edges, beveled magazine well, extended thumb safety and bumped beavertail grip safety. Magazine capacity is 7 rounds in .45 ACP. They fit almost any size hand and point naturally. Best of all, the crisp, clean single action trigger eliminates long travel, heavy pull and the guessing that goes with it. For concealed carry, nothing beats a 1911and no 1911 beats a Kimber. Ultra Carry II A hallmark of Kimber quality, it combines the tremendous advantages of the 1911 platform with the power of the .45 ACP cartridge. Kimber Ultra Carry II Features

The Kimber Ultra Carry II is what you get when you shorten a government length 1911 down to accept  3 inch barrel.  This aluminum-framed pistol operates on the same action as the classic 1911 that won two world wars but has been scaled down to improve its concealment and ease of carry.  This pistol fires from an improved single-action trigger pull and is designed around 70-series prints.

Kimber Ultra Carry II Capacity

The Kimber Ultra Carry II is chambered in the Lord’s caliber, .45 ACP and feeds from standard 1911 magazines giving it a capacity of 7 rounds.  Thanks to Kimber’s attention to detail by their engineers, this pistol has no issue feeding different bullet types whether it’s ball ammo or hollow points.  While the barrel’s metal is strong enough to handle +P loads, the smaller, lighter slide doesn’t balance when cycling like a full-size slide will.

Kimber Ultra Carry II Ergonomics

Ergonomics
The Pro Carry II is built with right-handed controls and can be found with a variety of different grips with the most common being made of a checkered cocobolo hardwood.  The front of the grip is smooth while the back of the grip is checkered.  If you’ve fired a 1911 of any kind before, the controls will be familiar.  The slide includes grip serrations that flank the rear sight to provide easier manipulation when manually cycling the action.

Kimber Ultra Carry II Fit & Finish

The Kimber Pro Carry II is built on an aluminum frame with a steel slide with the two hand-fit together at the factory.  The trigger’s contacting surfaces are honed for an incredibly smooth trigger pull.  This gun is available in all-black, stainless (all silver), and dual-tone with a black slide and a silver frame.

Kimber Ultra Carry II Concealability

Concealability
While the shorter barrel of the Ultra Carry II does improve the ease of carry as well as improve the speed when drawing the gun from a holster, it’s only slightly more concealable than a full-size 1911.  This is due to the height of the gun with its full size grip.  When holstered, the pointed heel of the grip combined with the 5.5 inch height of the gun can easily cause the gun to be seen under clothing.
