Despite micro-compacts, sub-compacts, and all sorts of plastic Wonder Nines dominating the handgun market in the last several decades, there's still a demand for 1911 handguns not just in America, but in any imaginable part of the world where there's available .45 ACP ammunition. And it shouldn't come as a surprise. As a launching platform, to say that the 1911 has withstood the test of time is a gross understatement. It may be far from perfect, but it's so aesthetically pleasing, so reliable and so well-designed that more than a century after its conception, it is still one of the most popular handguns in the world and doesn't seem to show signs of falling by the wayside anytime soon. The 1911 will be around long after our great-great-grandsons rule the world. And it doesn't matter what brand it is, as long as it uses ordnance-grade steel and follows John Moses Browning's integral design, it will always be beautiful and perform as intended. As far as the design's basic form and function are concerned, the Tisas 1911 A2 isn't too different from any other 1911 copies out there. It begs the question though -- if you're interested in one, what makes it stand out from its competitors?Brand new, the Tisas 1911 A2 GI version' has an MSRP of $400 with street prices ranging anywhere from $290 to $320. The enhanced version of this model costs only around $60 more, which, all things considered, makes it a real bargain. It comes with all the bells and whistles one would expect from any brand of 1911 labeled an enhanced version: a three-hole aluminum trigger, a beavertail grip safety, an ambidextrous thumb safety, front and rear slide serrations, and Novak-style rear sights. And even with all that, the company still managed to use a frame with an integrated rail and a cold-forged barrel. You'd be hard-pressed to find the last two features in a 1911 that costs $460 thereabouts. If you want a cost-effective 1911 that looks the part and will go bang every time you pull the trigger, the Tisas 1911 A2 may be a viable option. Tisas 1911-A2 Features

The Tisas 1911 A2 is a modern take on a truly classic firearm.  Built off of Series 70 blueprints, the Tisas puts a modern spin on a historic design by adding an ambidextrous safety and sleek, effective front and rear slide serrations.  Tisas also opted for a skeletonized trigger and hammer to cut some weight and add a fierce look, while the target style sights on the slide give the user a much easier path to accuracy.

Tisas 1911-A2 Ergonomics

Ergonomics
The Tisas 1911-A2, also known as the “Tisas 1911 Duty”, is a faithful copy of the original 1911 pistol designed by John Browning.  With plenty of parts interchangeability, aftermarket support for grips, lights, lasers, and other attachments are plentiful.  The expertly-copied Tisas 1911 has the same feel as the original gun and also has an ambidextrous safety and a skeletonized hammer with plenty of texturing to prevent it slipping as you pull back the hammer.

Tisas 1911-A2 Fit & Finish

The Tisas 1911 A2 is arguably the most well-built “budget” 1911 clone.  One of the most important factors to any reliable 1911 is having properly-mated slide rails, and the Tisas 1911 delivers.  The incredibly smooth action highlights the tight tolerances between the frame and slide, which feels great but also improves its reliability.

Tisas 1911-A2 Concealability

Concealability
The Tisas 1911 A2, just as every other full-size 1911, is difficult to carry concealed.  Its large size makes it most easily concealed in a shoulder holster under a jacket.  Like other full-sized pistols, the most comfortable carry option would be in an open-carry setup.
