FN SCAR 17S Features

The FN SCAR 17S is far superior to any other .308 caliber modern sporting rifle.  Its adjustable stock allows for different lengths of pull while the adjustable comb ensures a proper cheek weld, and its familiar AR15 style grip and safety selector improve the learning curve.  Its barrel is rated as sub-MOA out of the box with match grade ammo, and it features a full-length top rail over its monolithic upper receiver

FN SCAR 17S Capacity

The FN SCAR17S is chambered in 7.62x51mmNATO, or as the call it on the moon, .308WIN, and accepts detachable box magazines with available capacities of 10, 20, and 25 rounds.  Please note that the SCAR17S does not use AR10 pattern magazines.  To use AR10 magazines, you will need to buy an aftermarket lower receiver that is specifically designed to take them.
The FN SCAR 17S is incredibly light weight.  Thanks to its magnesium upper receiver and liberal use of polymer, the SCAR 17S weighs in at an impressive 8 pounds when unloaded.  With its foldable stock, the SCAR 17S makes getting in and out of vehicles incredibly simple.

FN SCAR 17S Ergonomics

Ergonomics
The SCAR 17S has very similar controls to the AR15 with a few exceptions.  The ambidextrous safety has a 45 degree throw instead of 90 degrees, the magazine release can be engaged from either side of the rifle, and the charging handle is along the top of the receiver under the scope rail instead of sitting behind the receiver.  Because the charging handle is reciprocating, it can also be used as a forward assist, should the need arise.

FN SCAR 17S Fit & Finish

The FN SCAR 17S is extremely well built with an incredibly smooth action and crisp trigger.  Many notice the colors never match on a SCAR, and this is due to anodizing process which doesn’t result in matching colors.  Take note in the fact that mounting a suppressor to the rifle will void the warranty, and these guns are known to be rough on optics.
