Howa Carbon Stalker Features

The Howa Carbon Stalker is a series of bolt-action rifles that are built on a Mauser style action.  Their barrel lengths can range from 20 to 26 inches while featuring a light profile to reduce weight.  The receivers are set up to attach a wide range of magnified optics allowing the user to configure the rifle to their needs.  It is built with an adjustable trigger allowing you to change the pull weight.

Howa Carbon Stalker Capacity

The Howa Carbon Stalker is available in a wide range of calibers, each offering their own capacity.  Its mini-action setups employ detachable box magazines allowing 5 or 10 rounds of .223 Remington, 6mmARC, 6.5 Grendel and .350 Legend.  The short action setups are offered in .308 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmoor and 7mm08 while the long-action setups can be found in .270 Winchester, 6.5 PRC, .300 WinMag and 7mm RemMag.  The short and long action setups use an internal 5-round magazine.

The Carbon Stalker measures 38 to 40 inches long depending on the action length, and the unloaded weight can range from 4.6 to 6.7 pounds.  This notably light weight places this rifle high up on the list of bolt action rifles across the intermediate and full-power rifle categories.  Its lack of protruding features further increases its mobility as its slick contours prevent brush and dense vegetation from snagging on the gun.

Howa Carbon Stalker Ergonomics

Ergonomics
The Howa Carbon Stalker offers everything you would expect out of a bolt-action rifle.  The stock incorporates a half-pistol grip with the bolt handle resting directly over the trigger for an easy transition, the stock’s comb rides straight backwards to reduce impact on cheek bones, the length of pull is typical for a deer rifle, and the handguard offers a smooth and comfortable support grip.  The only notable concern may be in the lack of checkering on any of the typical gripping surfaces, so employ a sling to increase retention and to use the included sling studs.

Howa Carbon Stalker Fit & Finish

The steel components in the Howa Carbon Stalker are surface-treated to reduce damage from weather and wear, and the composite stock is wrapped in carbon fiber.  This hybrid stock provides two distinct advantages over wood stocks or composite-only stocks in that it reduces the overall weight of the gun significantly while also adding an incredible amount of strength and durability to the rifle.  Also, carbon fiber is a very attractive look any day of the week.
