Ruger P94 Features

The Ruger P94 is a full-size, aluminum-framed, semi-automatic pistol that operates on a short recoil action with a tilting barrel and fires from either a double- or single-action trigger pull.  The 4.25 inch barrel is topped with a windage-adjustable iron sight setup that includes a front sight blade and square-notch rear sight.  The slide-mounted safety also acts as a de-cocker to reset the hammer from single-action back to double-action for safer storage and carry.

Ruger P94 Capacity

The Ruger P94 is chambered in .40 Smith & Wesson and feeds from double-stack, single-feed magazines with a standard capacity of 15 rounds.  10 round magazines are somewhat easy to find for users in states with silly ammo capacity restrictions.

Ruger P94 Ergonomics

Ergonomics
It’s big, it’s bulky, and your fingers will get extra cold when shooting it in the winter.  The Ruger P94 has a smooth front and back surface along the grip and rubber grip panels on the side that are checkered to improve traction.  The trigger is very heavy in both hammer actions, though the single action pull is crisp.  Slide serrations flank the rear sight to give you more traction when manually running the action.

Ruger P94 Fit & Finish

The one thing that cannot be denied about the Ruger P94 is its insane durability.  Ruger is known for heat treating their metal components to incredible hardnesses and this prevents wear and cracking.  The P94 is incredibly durable, however the loose tolerances keep it from being a gun that people would consider as a premium option.  Most of the geometry is rather basic as this gun was designed back when 3D modeling softwares were primitive.
Fit and Finish

Ruger P94 Concealability

Concealability
Outside of employing a shoulder holster, the P94 is nearly impossible to conceal.  Between its massive overall size, exposed hammer, sharp rear sight and protruding controls, concealed carry with this pistol would be very uncomfortable.  These pistols are most commonly carried in an open-carry setup, however most of them live in the back of gun safes, tucked away in a vehicle, or sit in the budget section at a local gun shop.
