This is a smooth bore (Bird/BuckShot) Barrel but will fire slugs. If you absolutely need a rifled/slug barrel, this ain't it. A better choice is : budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/42607/Maverick+31044+88+12+24+RB+RS
