David, no, Diamondback recommends 124gr or lower for reliability. This is true of most short barreled pocket 9mm pistols.

Safe to carry with a round chambered?

As long as the trigger isnâ€™t pressed it shouldnâ€™t go off. Carrying with a round chambered is more of a personal preference. I carry a Glock 43 chambered and I understand the the extra risk in doing so. I also understand the risk in not doing so.
